Los Angeles-Based Indie Pop Artist Tessa Kaye Dismisses Toxic Positivity With New Single “Sunshine & Rainbows”
Born in Philadelphia, and raised by her adopted Mormon family in Utah, Tessa Kaye eventually separated herself from her upbringing as a young adult and headed to Los Angeles to pursue her dreams as a pop star. With a handful of singles under her belt and with a wave a momentum behind her, Tessa has shared her lates single “Sunshine & Rainbows”.
Her bright vocals and catchy hooks contrast the forward lyricism and commentary. Written about the effects of toxic positivity, Tessa shares about the song, “so many times I’ve found myself in situations where I was trying to mask my authenticity to not come off as “negative.” I’ve swallowed my own hurt in order to keep a happy, positive disposition for others, but that shit’s dead now! Life isn’t always sunshine & rainbows…and I’d say that’s kinda the whole point. Balance baby. Contrast. Bad times just make the good ones feel that much better.”
