Nashville Alt Rock Act Secondhand Sound Return With New Single “Colm’s Conquest”
Nashville alt-rock trio Secondhand Sound have returned with their new single “Colm’s Conquest” – the first since their critically-acclaimed debut full-length The Best and Worst Times. The latest single is part of an upcoming EP, out later this year.
“What’s interesting about this song is that it’s a rare example of a Secondhand Sound song that didn’t originate on my acoustic guitar”, frontman Sawyer Estok shares. “Usually, I sit and pine over a song, specifically lyrics, for months. This one came really fast and that was refreshing.”
The name “Colm’s Conquest” was initially the name of a side project Sawyer and lead guitarist Cam Schmidt intended to start. This was the first song written for a concept EP that detailed the internal/external journey of a figure named Colm who is stuck in space.
Their imaginative and youthful songwriting style bears a timeless, garage rock essence that comes through the warm guitar tones and crunchy vocal effects. Finding a firm footing in their sound, the emerging band evoke a nostalgic feeling, running parallel to The Districts.
