Canadian Born Indie Pop Artist chasing luma Finds Peace In Solitude On New Single “Paradise”
chasing luma, the alternative pop project for Canadian-born songwriter/producer Luke MacDonald, has released his third single under the moniker with “paradise”. Coming from a production background in dance and electronic music, MacDonald finds a more universally-appealing bedroom pop style with his chasing luma side, and on the new single, uses his strengths as a dance artist.
“’paradise’ is an ode to being alone”, he begins about his new single. “By nature, I’m a very non-confrontational person and when writing this song, I thought it would be interesting to write from the perspective of a character who is much better at dealing with the unpleasantries of ending a relationship. I co-wrote this song with my friend Ryan, and he really helped push me beyond my comfort zone to write such a bold song by my usual standards. through this process I feel like I become more like the character I created, and have since become more motivated to confront the uncomfortable truths in my life.”
Its bouncing rhythm and vibrant soul give the breakup song a welcoming upbeat charm, filling the speakers with bright instrumentation and confidence.
