Jany Green Shares Sonic Getaway “Nicotine”

As soon as Jany Green’s “Nicotine” hits the veins (no pun intended), it becomes clear why Breakfast Club is one of the Alaskan-born artist’s favorite films. With the new single, Green succeeds at creating a soundtrack to nondescript rebellion, whether intentional or not.

The LA-based singer recognizes his position as an addictive substance, not just sonically but personally. He tells the subject of his musings “hope you don’t turn around/and quit on me”. The blaring distortion that crunches the guitars surrounding the crooner’s hook truly mimics the turbine qualities of a tobacco rush. There is so much passion and urgency in every word of “Nicotine”, so perfectly capturing the song’s essence and making it one to leave on repeat. Again.
