INTRODUCING: Indie Rock Newcomers The eight five two Share Haunting Debut Single “Shiver”
Australian indie rock group The eight five two, comprised of the de la Hoyde brothers, have shared their debut single “Shiver”. With each brother bringing their unique qualities to the band’s sound, the group have found a compelling and striking style right out of the gate.
About their inaugural release, the band share: “‘Shiver’ is about the disconnect of not being able to let go. A haunting past left behind that you can’t help but want more of. It’s the river flowing inside your mind, blocking out all other thoughts. With no hope of swimming against it, you’re left with a memory, a shiver, a sweet but violent current that runs down the back of your neck into your heart”.
Their poetic and haunting explanation comes out through ethereal guitar tones and melancholic composition, before opening up into a sea of instrumentation and rich vocals.
