Austin-Based Indie Rock Group STRVCK Share New Single “Pain Is Beautiful” From Upcoming Debut LP
Austin-based indie rock duo STRVCK came to be following a near-death experience for lead single Chelsea Seth Woodward. After being struck by a bolt of lightning as he inserted his key to unlock the driver-side door of his vehicle, Woodward was suffered a large cut on the back of his head, a concussion, and some short term memory loss. Miraculously he emerged from the event with no long term injuries.
With a new outlook on life and his aspirations, Chelsea and fellow Austin, TX musician, Drew Walker joined forces in 2020, creating what is now the songwriting/ performing duo STRVCK. Their sound bounces between guitar driven indie rock and dreamy synth pop. Together with help from producer (and sometimes co-writer) Max Frost, they created their debut album Day One, set for release in the coming months.
From the album comes “Pain Is Beautiful”, a synth-pop tune built on bouncing guitar riffs and pulsating rhythms that explores the pleasures from a sometime tumultuous relationship. Clear inspirations from the likes of MGMT, Passion Pit, and Foster the People come to mind as the pair craft a catchy listening experience.
