Songwriting Duo Sleeping Wolf Share Summer Anthem “Sippin’ On A Summer Wave”

American singer-songwriters Jake Newton and Steven Solomon have been making music collectively as Sleeping Wolf since 2014, with an album and a few EPs under their belts. The two had to step away, leaving Los Angeles for their homes in Austin, Texas and Whitefish, Montana, but continued to collaborate over Skype.

And so came “Sippin’ On A Summer Wave”. Created out of a feeling of loss for the past, their lives in L.A., and the loss of innocence, “Sippin'” became an anthem for freedom and nostalgia. With its brimming positivity and pulsating synthesizers, the alt-pop single borrows elements from the indie pop hits from the 2010s, as guitars, soaring vocals, and driving percussion build into a catchy climax.
