Chicago Indie Pop Group WABANSIA Share New Single “Coming Of Age”
Chicago indie pop group WABANSIA came to be during a writing camp hosting a number of artists and producers back in the summer of 2021. The four friends of Cudos, Gudfella, Levity, and Tvvin ended up working together and composing what would become their debut single “Coming Of Age”.
Despite having only interacted over the internet up until that summer, the band’s chemistry came naturally, and the bunch of 20-somethings put their heads together for a catchy indie pop hit. Written about their collective feelings about growing up and making sense of the world, “Coming Of Age” is a straight-to-the-point release.
In their own words, the band shares, “‘Coming of Age’ is a song about growing up & realizing that sometimes life can be a joke. Sometimes it makes sense & other times it throws you for a loop. It’s about the experience of growing up in a world that expects so much from you yet, does everything it can to keep you in your lane. So really, who cares? Cause in the end we’re all just part of a coming of age story right?”
Nothing short of a Gen-Z anthem, the youthful and upbeat song is a surefire summer hit. Listen below:
