Louisville Math-Rock Group Annapurna Share New Single “Cosmic Curiosities” Featuring Guitarist Gabriel Levi
Louisville-based progressive math-rock group Annapurna have put out their new single “Cosmic Curiosities”. Founded on their progressive metal backgrounds, the melodic guitar-focused djent style finds a softer, more laidback demeanour on the release. Heavily influenced by the likes of Minus the Bear and Animals As Leaders, the style finds a middle ground between heavy and light.
Bringing along guitarist Gabriel Levi for a wild guitar solo, “Cosmic Curiosities” is a great tune for those looking for something easier on the ears with the same intensity and virtuosity that progressive metal offers.
About the song, the band share, “‘Cosmic Curiosities’ is our proudest work to date. After seven years together, we’ve honed in on our ideal sound: a refreshing blend of progressive elements, lush harmony, and most importantly, synchronicity…our good friend Gabriel Levi brought an unparalleled energy to the track that is apparent in his crushing vocal harmonies and mind-boggling guitar solo, surpassing any and all expectations. We believe that this song is the best current representation for who we are as songwriters, and we hope it finds you well”.
