GZGZ Teams With LT and Elle Wade On Breezy Cut “Over You”
Since his relocation north of the border to Vancouver after 12 years in New York City, GZGZ has been seeking to find his “sweet spot between electronic production and tasteful playing”. On “Over You”, the talented musician and veteran session player strikes this middle-ground exceptionally well.
The aim toward tasteful playing is especially clear on the delectable splashes of brass over the course of “Over You”, used in such a sparing yet necessary regard. The vocal delivery of singer LT Wade also captures the feeling of breakthrough in grieving the loss of love so quaintly. Wade reflects on this feeling at their peak lyrically with “This time alone, it taught me who I want to be”.
