UK Alt Rock Group Broken Fires Share New Single “Float & Land” From Upcoming LP ‘Hymns’
Ahead of their new album Hymns, British alt-rock group Broken Fires have shared their second single from the release “Float & Land”. Influenced by acts such as Modest Mouse, Frightened Rabbits, and Foals, the guitar-forward single possess a humble confidence, both sonically and lyrically.
Written about finding the courage to seek out something better for the future, singer/guitarist Tom explains, “I wrote the lyrics about a friend who I could see was in a toxic relationship that was falling apart but worrying too much about someone else’s feelings rather than doing what they wanted to. Lots of people I know been there! I just felt like telling them – don’t be afraid to tear it all down and start again, you only get one go! But I knew they wouldn’t listen, so I thought I wrote this to get out my frustration I guess.”
Hymns is set to be released on October 28th on Phwoar and Peace. Listen to “Float & Land” here:
