Canadian Indie Pop Artist Olivia Penalva Releases New EP ‘Assembly Required’; Shares Live Performance Of Title Track

Indie pop artist Olivia Penalva has released her new EP Assembly Required. Lead by her stunning vocal abilities, the collection is an emotional diary entry about growing up and making a place for herself in the world.

“This EP is really a time capsule of lessons learned, and through my songwriting I tried to capture truths and acknowledge the lies society tells us as we find ourselves in the wake of growing up”, Olivia shares. “When I started writing this EP, I was in a moment of realization that growing up is such a rollercoaster and not always as fun as movies make it out to be. From falling in and out of love, struggling to find and love yourself, challenges with your mental health, to even grieving over lost loved ones for the first time. This EP is a diary of my emotions. A glimpse into my brain. Writing these songs was therapeutic for me, and then I later realized that so many people could find common ground with my feelings and words. Assembly Required is a love letter to everyone. A reminder that we can fall apart and rebuild ourselves over and over to lead us to who we are.”

To celebrate the release, Olivia has shared a live performance of the title track. With nothing to hide behind, the emerging artist lets her talents shine bright, combining her personal and candid lyricism about her insecurities with a beautiful vocal performance.
