Massachusetts Duo Handsome Ghost Share New Video For “Heaven Isn’t Long For You”
Massachusetts duo Handsome Ghost have shared their new single “Heaven Isn’t Long For You” and it’s close-knit music video. Comprised of singer/songwriter Tim Noyes and multi-instrumentalist/producer Eddie Byun, the pair use their minimalistic size to create warm, organic indie folk, combining a gentle rustic twang courtesy of an acoustic guitar, mandolin, banjo, tambourine, and rustic vocal harmonies.
Their new single is no different, as the band evoke a feeling of sitting around the campfire for a sing-along with friends.
Of the new track, Tim Noyes of Handsome Ghost unfolds this, “The song is based on the concept of living in this perfect place (call it ‘Heaven’ if you like, no pressure) and getting to do exactly what you want to do whenever you want to do it. And would that ever get old? For me, probably? Is it better to have everything just right all of the time? Or be human with flaws and challenges and emotion? This is the question.”
Music video director Nolan Englund shares this about his creative process, “My aim for this video was to create something mysterious, evocative, and fun! The song ‘Heaven Isn’t Long For You’ expresses a wonderfully compelling duality, by way of its melancholy lyrics and its care-free musicality. I wanted to create a video that captures this duality. The video is simply about good times naturally coming to an end. Everyone leaves the party eventually, and all we can ask for is to have fun while we are there.”
With a rotating camera keeping things close and intimate, the element of surprise and slick tracking shots give the accompanying visual a playful demeanour, as it keeps pace with the slow-burning folk tune.
