UK Five Piece Swim Deep Share New Visual For Hit Single “Little Blue”
Following the early September release of single “Little Blue,” Swim Deep have shared the accompanying music video. Filmed during the band’s recent stint on the National Lottery and Music Venue Trust’s Revive Live tour, it candidly captures the band’s return to the live stage following a two year absence from live shows.
Commenting on the band’s return to playing live, Austin Williams said: “Playing live after being separated from the thing that makes us tick has made us feel born again. We’re now ready to take the world on, one great song at a time.” The organic, at home video vibe brings viewers right up on stage with the band, enveloping them into the elements of touring and live music as the lyrics assure them that ‘we’re gonna make it.’
The single sees the 5-piece branching off into intriguing new territory as they near their ten year anniversary as a band. Noting the influence of Caribou on its creation, the track swells with colourful synths and carefully layered harmonies, with the lyrics suggestive of an exciting new chapter in the band’s story, with a renewed sense of confidence and resilience.
The latest release gives some insight into the fourth album from Swim Deep, but not necessarily in the way you think. Williams teased that “[Little Blue] nothing like our new album which I’ve been writing recently, which is a whole guitar record. We just wanted to put something out there” in a recent interview with Rolling Stone UK.
