Vancouver Indie Pop Artist DYLYN Unveils Debut Album ‘The Sixty90s’ Alongside New Single “Just A Boy”
Vancouver indie pop singer-songwriter DYLYN released her debut full-length album The Sixty90s at the end of October. The 13-track record features a handful of previously released singles, and was co-produced by Ryan Guldemond (of Mother Mother) and Parker Bossley (of The Mounties, Hot Hot Heat).
Highlighting the new collection, DYLYN has shared her latest single “Just A Boy”. Incorporating both the warmth of ’60s pop with the tenacity and grit of the ’90s rock world, “Just A Boy” is a melancholic ballad that brings a Pixies’-era intensity through slow builds and climactic guitar hooks.
“I’m referencing two of my favorite eras, it’s not confined or boxed into one or the other. The fusion revealed itself as the songwriting and production developed. It naturally took on a darker vintage yet futuristic edge” shares Gwen.
