Montreal Singer-Songwriter Matt Holubowski Announces Upcoming Album ‘Like Flowers On A Molten Lawn’ With New Video “End Scene”

Montreal-based singer-songwriter Matt Holubowski has announced his new album Like Flowers On A Molten Lawn is set for release on March 24th via Audiogram. Alongside the news, Holubowski has shared the wonderful new single and video “End Scene”.

Spread out across seven minutes of compelling folk-infused indie rock, “End Scene” is broken up into three distinct movements: the first exploring the accomplishments over a lifetime, the second highlighting that existence is fleeting, and the final facilitates the transition from chaos to serenity, with the knowledge that the end is not only inevitable, but also desirable.

As such, the song’s instrumentals flow alongside both the narrative and its thematic qualities, with its pensive, reflective opening expanding into more robust and invigorating musicianship. Holubowski’s textured croon makes for a melancholic narrator, as “End Scene” progresses.

About the song, Matt shares:

“It’s the deep breath you take before diving into the unknown. Out of your comfort zone, out of your daily routine. It’s the start of something new and chaotic. It’s about gracefully embracing your fate instead of resisting it. Facing it calmly, clearheaded, focusing on what is in front of you. It’s a close encounter with the end of the world, while knowing that there will be something afterwards“.
