Finnish Hardcore Punk Group moshimoshi Drop Fiery New Single “Soon”

Helsinki-based emo-punk newcomers moshimoshi made a strong first impression with their debut EP in 2021. Following up, the band have shared their latest single and live favourite, “Soon”. As the revitalized guitar-punk sound of the early ’00s continues to evolve, moshimoshi find themselves between the days of At The Drive-In and more contemporary bands such as Touché Amoré with their latest release.

Melodic, raw, and fiery, “Soon” is a the first release of new music that is tucked away, following a small lineup change after their previous drummer was replaced by Joona Kinnunen. The adjustment was seamless, as he had also played together with moshimoshi’s Eetu Tuominen and Kalle Kauranen on the highly acclaimed debut album from the band Knife Girl.

“The song was written already around the time of our first EP and has been part of moshimoshi setlist since our first gig. As a result, it is already familiar to many listeners from our gigs, so it’s great that we finally get to release it. The single also provides a taste of the more approachable and melodic tracks on our upcoming album. The lyrics deal with a lack of achievement and causing disappointment,” says singer-guitarist Aatu Kovanen.

The chaotic and wild guitar riffs are a match made in heaven for Aatu’s ferocious growl, making for a compelling and energizing hook-filled listen.
