Montreal Singer-Songwriter Sunray Minor Shares New Music Video “Fox the Hound”
Montreal-based singer-songwriter Sunray Minor released their new concept album One Day, Maybe… earlier this summer. Constructing a universe for each song, the selected sounds help set the scene. From the release is focus single “Fox The Hound”, set up as a graveyard dream sequence.
About the single and its accompanying visual, Sunray Minor shares:
“Me as the main character has been turned into a dog and is walking through the dead of night, alone, scared and confused. Searching for something but not knowing what it is or why I’m there. Encountering ghouls and undead of the night, I find my way to a tombstone. I begin to dig my way down into this grave, digging, and digging, realizing this is the grave of my master who has passed away and been buried. I’ve been all alone without them and I realize my reasons for coming here where because I never accepted their death in the first place. But now, faced with their bones, the truth hits me and grief sets in. The gravekeeper finds me in my masters grave, covered in mud and shoots me“.
Despite its more haunting backstory, the song boasts a warm and bright indie rock feel, while still grasping at the unsettling feeling of a dream.
