Los Angeles Folk Singer-Songwriter Mike Stocksdale Shares Hopeful New Single “Bad Bad World”

Ahead of his upcoming EP Five Stories, due December 1st via Saint In The City Records, Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Mike Stocksdale has shared his reflective folk single “Bad Bad World”.

“Bad Bad World was the first song I wrote for this record,” explains Stocksdale. “It’s laced with references to the pandemic and the general dark vibes of 2020 and 2021, but it has a hopeful tone. If you look too hard and too often at social media and news feeds an odd and untrue sense of reality can start to form. Things feel bleak, but the truth is there is so much good in this world, and it gets overshadowed, especially on local and personal levels. Every person you’ve ever passed by on the street has a story and it’s probably full of love and kindness and heartache”.

Drenched in hopefulness and subtle optimism, the new single is lead by Stocksdales’ warm-spirited vocals and easy-to-love folk songwriting. Despite its name, the song encourages a focused perspective to appreciate the great things happening around us.
