PREMIERE: Toronto Indie Artist Tetra Pushes Through The Tough Times On Electro-Folk Offering “ceilings”

Toronto-based electronic artist Tetra (known by his friends as Drew Thomas) has shared his new single “ceilings”. While the multi-instrumentalist has worked with a number of artists in different styles around the city, Thomas has always been focused on creating captivating soundscapes inspired by live instrumentation and retro video game sound design. His latest single is an amalgamation of his influences, bridging together dreamy neo-folk with explorative electronica and future-pop.

Artists such as Porter Robinson, C2C, and Owl City come to mind to create a mesmerizing and glitchy sense of nostalgia, while Tetra lets his voice shape the track’s emotion through a vocalizer. Written about “finding the strengths to get through the hollowing lows of depression through friends and family”, “ceilings” possess a welcomed hopefulness and melancholy, as its folk features nod to the likes of Dan Mangan and Bon Iver.

“ceilings” is the first single of Tetra’s upcoming sophomore album, online, set for release in 2023.
