Indie Pop Act New Friends Share Blasting New Video “Ricochet”
Since launching into the scene back in 2020, Southern Ontario indie pop group New Friends have made a splash with their catchy and roaring songwriting style. Comprised of lead singer Stefan Boulineau (Windsor), guitarist Cole Wilson (St. Thomas), keyboardist/lead writer Ayden Miller (Orillia), and Conrad (Waterloo), the four-piece set the stage with their debut EP Pilot earlier this year, and with plenty of momentum at their backs, they’ve announced their next EP Camaro.
Now onto their third single, the group have shared “Ricochet”, a commanding and anthemic song about surrendering control to a past lover. Its dynamic and thumping instrumentation opens up to the explosive chorus, as the band channel the likes of Arctic Monkeys, COIN, and The Band CAMINO into their pop rock style.
Once again working with their tour videographer Connor Scheffler, the accompanying music video nods to the ’70s and ’80s-inspired rock of the track with a vintage car, cellphone, and multi-panel frames.
