Tasmanian punk rock group Slow Down Sonic have shared their new single “Merry Go Round”. The Aussie moonlighters (the band is comprised of a young father of two, a local councillor and a tradesman) have stepped things up for the new track, leaning further into the punk sound for their catchiest, punchiest release yet. Inspired by the ’00s emo-punk and alt-rock scene, Slow Down Sonic look to the likes of Violent Soho, Jimmy Eat World, and Dear Seattle for influence, as the riff-heavy guitars and groovy percussions make room for playful pop-punk vocals.
