UK Singer-Songwriter Rosie H Sullivan Recounts A Failed Relationship On Stunning New Ballad “Lights”
Scottish singer-songwriter Rosie H Sullivan has shared her moving new ballad “Lights”. Lead by her steady and charming vocals, the new single explores the comparison between love and glowing light through metaphor and gentle strumming.
Rosie shares, “This song is my ode to love, and everything it brings to people’s lives. I’ve grown up surrounded by people in love, but I do recognise that it can take a long time to find someone who makes you shine, and I wanted to touch on that within ‘Lights’. It’s a song about love, but also the journey to finding it.”
With a rich melancholic undertone, “Lights” appreciates those who have found love, hope, and patience, while finding a humanistic and relatable side that comes through comparing others success to one’s own failures.
Patient and stripped back, “Lights” lets Sullivan’s voice take centre stage as her tender lyrics flow forward. “The recording of this track was full of surprises”, Rosie continues. “At first, I didn’t imagine Lights sounding as raw as it ended up, but as soon as I listened back with my producer Ross Hamilton, I was obsessed. I love that you can hear the creaks from the guitar as I play, I think it adds so much character to the track”.
