Singer-Songwriter Mike Edel Announces New Acoustic Version Of Latest Album ‘casseroles & flowers’ With Fresh Rendition Of “Illusions By The Sea”
West Coast singer-songwriter Mike Edel wrote his latest album casseroles & flowers following a debilitating stroke suffered while on tour with his then-pregnant wife in 2021. Songwriting and playing guitar quickly became a way to help rehab himself back to health, and the result is a poignant and reflective collection of alt-folk songs about the bittersweet aspects of life, death, and fatherhood.
Along with an upcoming string of eastern tour dates, Edel has announced an acoustic version of the album, leading with the fan-favourite “Illusions by the sea (acoustic)”.
Inspired by the “perfect and bittersweet” time of his life when him and his wife moved into a conversion van to tour an outdoor live show across North America, the song is also a reminder of the challenges he would come to face.
