Cam Kahin’s New Single “Try Again” Offers Another Glimpse Into Forthcoming EP ‘WHEN IT’S ALL OVER’
Toronto’s Cam Kahin recently released an anthemic new single, “try again,” lifted from his forthcoming debut EP, WHEN IT’S ALL OVER. Released alongside a spunky music video, the track is full of power chord riffs, crafting an upbeat track that captures and holds listener attention. “try again” follows previous singles “birds” and “compass,” and continues to showcase why the 21-year-old is a newcomer to watch.
“When I was making “try again,” I wanted it to almost feel tongue in cheek. It’s like a rock song that became self aware,” Kahin explains. “It’s punchy and aggressive but allows space to breathe with a more melodic chorus.” A catchy, easy listen with its own unique sound, fans of acts such as MONOWHALES or The Beaches are likely to find this song stuck in their head and added to playlists.
About the video, director Lebni Thodakee Avitia reveals that the idea was Kahin’s. “I think it was smart to do something simple yet intricate,” Avitia shares. “It captures the uneasy feeling of things coming back into your life that cause a disruption, and trying once again to just stick it out.”
Kahin also announced his first headlining hometown show at Toronto’s Hard Luck Bar on April 14th, where he’ll celebrate the April 6th release of WHEN IT’S ALL OVER via Dine Alone Records. A full list of upcoming live dates can be found below.
