British Songwriting Duo Flyte Return With New Single “Defender” & Video
British songwriting duo Flyte, comprised of musicians Will Taylor and Nick Hill, have returned with their new single “Defender”. Their first taste of new music since their 2021 sophomore album This Is Really Going To Hurt, “Defender” is a delicate and tender love song about trying one’s best to provide support to a partner suffering from mental health struggles.
“‘Defender’ is written from the perspective of someone trying to care for a partner with poor mental health, even though they may be unqualified, not necessarily any stronger, but trying none the less.” – Flyte
Built on a foundation of classical guitars and a steady, minimalistic drum machine, Taylor’s angelic vocals float overtop as the song finds its strength through its vulnerability and heartfelt sincerity.
