Multi-Instrumentalist Laura Misch Teases Upcoming Debut Album ‘Sample The Sky’ With Stunning New Single “Hide To Seek”

London-based multi-instrumentalist Laura Misch has shared her new single “Hide To Seek”, lifted from her upcoming debut album Sample The Sky, due October 13th. The acclaimed saxophonist/vocalist bridges her jazz-origins into the world of ambient-electronica and found-sound on the new release.

On “Hide To Seek”, Laura shares, “the kind of elemental scope of the album really does expand between the earth and the sky. The track is about desire and wanting someone to draw out parts of yourself that you’re hiding and how we’re all shaped by this interplay. The forest undergrowth feels like a perfect metaphor for the subconscious mind, and it’s a charged song. I imagined these mycelial threads leading the listener into the album world”.

While the entire collection was produced using nature and organic found-sound, “Hide To Seek” has the album’s sole external sample by sound designer and composer James Bulley who used geophones to record the inside of trees, capturing the internal conversation of the forest.
