Absinthe Rose – Black Earth

Boston-based folk-punk group Absinthe Rose originally started back in 2010 when lead singer Kimbo Rose joined forces with local musicians to expand upon her solo project. Since then, the group has toured throughout the U.S., released a handful or records, and have announced that their fourth studio album Black Earth will be out September 4th.

Elements of folk, rock, jazz, gypsy-rock, and anything that comes to mind, their title track “Black Earth” is a shadowy, political statement that uses twangy riffs and groovy melodies to be heard. “Your need for greed, manipulation, it’s a curse” repeats with punk-attitude amidst an alternative folk layout.
