Atmosphere – Southsiders

Even though it didn’t seem possible, Atmosphere keeps getting better and better with each new release. Southsiders is the latest addition to their extensive discography (album #8 to be exact). Hailing from Minneapolis, Minnesota, MC Slug and DJ Ant are leading examples in the alternative hip-hop genre.
One of the best components of the album is the fact that Atmosphere have kept their original sound: simple yet catchy hip-hop beats, layered with Slug’s old school rapping style.
With tracks like “Kanye West“ and “Bob Seger“, the album captures their mature, yet raw sound, still remaining a top artist in today’s hip-hop scene. The self titled track “Southsiders” features some extra Minnesota talent, rounding out their newest release.
