Formerly part of British 90’s-alternative rock group Stereolab and a number of other electro-inspired groups since then, Morgane Lhote has more recently been working on new solo projects. Under the moniker Hologram Teen, Lhote has released a two-track 7″ this week, reaching back into electronica days of disco and house, and resurfacing with a haunting, yet danceable style.
Side A features the single “Post-Apocalypteacakes” which combines together French house, Italian horror soundtrack, and early disco to create the devil’s dancing music. Maintaining the gothic, John Carpenter-esque vibe, “Tracksuit Minotaur” forces the listener into the realm of “horror-disco”.
