Indie Pop Artist AlphaCub Shares Latest Single “Comet” From Debut EP
The day has almost arrived for Toronto based indie pop artist AlphaCub to release his debut solo EP. Set to hit shelves June 3rd, the former member of Halifax band Soho Ghetto has given a taste of the collection with two previous tracks “Fighting” and “Friends“. Adding to the teaser is his latest, and darkest track “Comet”.
Although both “Friends” and “Fighting” showed Roberston in a vulnerable light in regards to relationships, past and present, his new single “Comet” highlights his internal insecurities about running out of time:
“Time is everything and it keeps me anxious and working towards the life that I want. I want to live with a narrative authority and the the master of the reality I create. It comes and goes so quick and I don’t want to be any other way. This song is about time and how I never have enough of it.”
’90s-era alt-rock blended with nu-disco pop give “Comet” an energizing demeanour, contrasting against the lyrics’ unnerving context.
