Lowell – High Enough (Official Music Video)
Indie dream-pop singer-songwriter Lowell is one of the handful of artists who are evolving pop music, pushing it well past its current boundaries and into a constantly modern state. After the success of her 2014 collaboration and tour with Icona Pop (another example of contemporary pop), Lowell is set to follow up the dynamic, female-driven effort with the release her latest Part 1: PARIS YK EP on August 26th.
Known for her support in bringing awareness to LGBTQ issues and women’s rights, Lowell’s latest single “High Enough” touches on the need to exceed expectations. Through the use of colourful, sporadic dance floor pop, and shape-shifting electronic flare, the new track has the singer-songwriter brushing off those expectations and having fun while she does it.
Blending together black and white with isolated colours, the accompanying music video was created by Toronto filmmaker and photographer Chaussée, describing it as “a cinematic study of Lowell as a performer through the use of movement and extensive colour printing techniques”.
