Pointless – Half Empty

It’s not every day you hear about an emo-pop punk group based out of the small Gloucester & Camden counties in New Jersey. Or that you hear about that part of New Jersey in general.

Small town aside, Pointless are making big moves with their latest single “Half Empty”. As a follow up to their previously released EPs, “Half Empty” has the band moving forward into a more mature sound:

Lead vocalist/guitarist Justin Monturano explains, “We have been growing and maturing as a band the same way we do in life every day. Every day we wake up, we try to be better than who we were yesterday. Whether we’re better or not, the effort is definitely there. This is our favorite track we’ve done so far and think it’s our best. We’re very excited to share it with everyone and the writing continues. We’ve been asked what this song means. Though there is definitely a specific meaning to it, it is open-ended to everyone who listens to it. After it becomes its own entity, I don’t think it has one sole meaning. But what I will say is that we just want to be there for people the same way music was there for us“.

The four-piece indie-emo outfit have captured all the classic bits of ’00s emo-pop in their new single: catchy riffs, heavy-hitting instrumentation, and the nasally-throat vocal style of many notable bands (I’m looking at you Blink-182).

Enjoy the single below, and head to their website for more music.
