The Blaze Velluto Collection – Fish Mountain II (Music Video)
Quebec City folk-rock ensemble The Blaze Velluto are releasing their sophomore album We Are Sunshine this summer, and the five-piece band, lead by songwriter Blaze Velluto, have shared the album’s lead single “Fish Mountain II”.
Melting together folk, rock, and ’60s pop, “Fish Mountain II” is a jangling, sun-shining tune of rich harmonies, Americana roots riffs, and genuine bright energy. The band’s full size, including guitar, bass, synths, drums, saxophone, and plenty of backing vocals, gives the song a bountiful amount of layers and instrumentation. With modern hints of Sam Roberts Band, and Edward Sharpe, and vintage inspiration from April Wine, and Crosby, Stills & Nash, it’s easy to get lost in a time-warp of prog-folk.
The accompanying music video, directed by Michael Japan, accentuates the retro aesthetic of the sound with a trippy, vintage dreamscape of technicolor oddballs as they sip on some “fun” espresso.
