Porter Robinson – Get Your Wish
EDM superstar Porter Robinson burst into the dance genre with his breakout single “Language”. A few years later, the Atlanta, Georgia native turned heads with his debut album Worlds back in 2014, shifting gears into an anime/fantastical electronic release that was well-received by critics – although not so much by his party-craving fans. Nevertheless, Robinson found his own direction and the result was captivating.
After a 2015 hiatus during which he was suffering from depression, Porter Robinson released some video game-inspired electronic music under the moniker Virtual Self a few years later.
Fast forward, and the young breakout star is sticking to the glitchy, android style of electronica, and has announced his sophomore album Nurture will be out later this year.
Alongside the announcement, Robinson has shared his new single and music video for “Get your Wish”. Putting aside the repetition of house beats and trance, he opts for a more melody-driven, electro-pop style but without compromising on his virtual-universe aesthetic.
