Carmanah – As I See You (Music Video)

Named after the beautiful Carmanah forests on Vancouver Island, B.C. folk-soul group Carmanah create music as serene and calming as the arms of Mother Nature. Mixing elements of blues, soul, folk, and West Coast acoustic, the quintet have shared their new single “As I See You” and its beach-front music video.

Lead by vocalist Laura Mina Mitic, Carmanah wrote “As I See You” to acknowledge the “distance between two souls when we forget to love ourselves”.

They explain, “This song is a reminder that by embracing those who love us within ourselves, we can find a sense of home and belonging in our own skin. By caring for the environment around us, we also care for ourselves“.

Fronted by the Jack Johnson-meets-Feist chorus of “there’s a woman in you that loves you as I do”, it’s hard not to get lost in Mitic’s entrancing vocals and encouraging words. With the world’s current state, it’s refreshing to have the spirit of music find its way into such captivating songs.

Enjoy the calming current of the music video below, and stay tuned for their full-length Iris out June 12th. You can listen to the new single and more on our Monthly Spotify playlist.
