Only August – The Rain

As much as rain can be a bummer, it is an important part of the life cycle. It nurtures, sustains, and brings life to nature. Indie alternative rock artist Only August wanted to explore the precipitation as a metaphor on his new single “The Rain”.

Only August

“[The Rain] is about the growth of a relationship. The song’s lyrics describe the simple care and nurture required to sustain a relationship, just as a plant needs rain to drink, sunshine to grow, as well as shade and space”.

With resemblance to Dallas Green and Airborne Toxic Event, Only August takes on the heavier side of acoustic rock, bringing together the power of his vocals and the fiery strumming of guitar. Alluding to the intensity of a rainstorm, something that is often needed to grow greater, “The Rain” is a crushing indie alt-rock tune that is heightened with its blanket of romantic sincerity. It was co-written by his wife during a getaway at their ranch by the fireplace.
