Cassowary – Cyclical ft. Tyler Cole (Music Video)
Los Angeles producer/multi-instrumentalist Miles Shannon, better known as Cassowary, dropped his debut self-titled album this past weekend. Incorporating the groove and spirit of vintage funk and soul into his contemporary sound of neo-R&B and chill electronica, the 25 year old artist is looking to make a statement as a rising star.
From the LP is the new single “Cyclical” featuring newcomer MC Tyler Cole. Featuring the sandy, sunshine filled California coast, the accompanying music video complements the song’s carefree attitude. With a background in piano, guitar, saxophone, and production, Shannon bring his multi-instrumentalist roots into his L.A. lounge hip-hop fusion.
“I really wanted to make a record that I would listen to,” Shannon says. “I want people to listen like a musician, with that intent. It’s clearly not just a pop album with pop songs. I wanted to challenge people, sonically. I want people to go in there and be surprised.“
And as a taste of the record, “Cyclical” certainly leaves enough room to explore all the layers and sonic detailing from the mind of Shannon.
