Nané Steal the Show From A Laundromat With Their New Single “Blue Velvet”

Austin, Texas indie soul act Nané made waves on NPR Tiny Desk recently with their infectious new single “Blue Velvet”. It’s dynamite and explosive energy caught the attention of Brittany Howard and has been picking up momentum ever since. After making their debut back in 2019, Nané have been rolling out new singles and “Blue Velvet” is their fifth track to be released.

Bursting with life and spirit, “Blue Velvet” combines funk, soul, southern rock, and a dash of pop for an irresistible feel-good track.

About the song, frontman Daniel Sahad shares: “I want everyone to celebrate the goodness in themselves, the things that make them different, because therein lies true value..[the song is] a playful drum of confidence that reminds you not to take yourself too seriously. Sometimes we let waves of adversity and insecurity crash upon us, and sometimes the best medicine is just to mow those suckers down on a Jetski. Be yourself, it is enough, and it’s all you have.”

And to no surprise at all, the live version from a laundromat is even better to the studio version. Sahad’s commanding presence behind the microphone adds to the song’s power and even has the ability to turn a boring, old laundromat into an arena-sized venue.
