UK Rap Icons Ghetts & Skepta Team Up For Powerful New Track “IC3”

As two of Britain’s most prominent names in rap, Ghetts and Skepta have teamed up for the hard-hitting single “IC3”. The grime artists bring out their London swagger on the new track, taking turns with fast-firing and razor sharp verses thrown against a steady, punching beat.

Named after the UK police code used to identify Black suspects, “IC3” reclaims the phrase, turning it from “IC3” to “I see king, I see me” with each chorus, as the two legends interchange verses about their status as influential artists and about racial prejudice in the UK. “Don’t tell me to go back where I came from / When the Queen sits there in stolen jewels” Ghetts raps, making for one of the song’s most prominent lines.

“IC3” is the first official collaboration between the two grime heavyweights, and while it may be long overdue, its commanding stature and high replay value is of no surprise. Listen below:
