Run The Jewels Fight Robotic Cops In “Yankee and the Brave” Animated Music Video

It’s been a strong year for rap duo Run the Jewels. Their latest album RTJ4 continues to impress since dropping in June (as a free download), and this past weekend marked the first live performance of the record as a filmed concert “Holy Calamavote”. Run the Jewels teamed up with Adult Swim and HBO Max to film the show, hosted by Eric Andre, as a way to encourage Americans to vote in the upcoming U.S. elections.

Opening their online performance was the single “Yankee and the Brave (ep. 4)” which has now been given an animated music video. The bass-punching track features El-P and Killer Mike driving around town in a wild car chase against a futuristic robot police force as the song’s exhilarating story comes to life.

Directed by Sean Solomon with animation by Titmouse studios (Big Mouth, Midnight Gospel), founder and president Chris Prynoski shares, “Killer Mike and El-P would f*** up some robot cops in real life, so I consider this animated music video for ‘Yankee and the Brave’ a documentary – that documents the future. The prophecy of Run The Jewels has flowed through the Titmouse animators’ hearts and into their pencils. You can watch it before it happens as magical, moving drawings.”

Watch the clip below and you can catch Run the Jewel’s “Holy Calamavote” just past.
