Anonymous producer whatshisface Shares New Single “Magic Disaster”

Since emerging into the music scene with his first single “Moonlight” earlier this year, the mysterious internet producer whatshisface has continued to pique listeners’ curiosity with his sophomore track “Magic Disaster”.

The futuristic and hazy nu-soul track is drenched into haunting tones, as whatshisface creates a similar vibe to James Blake with his minimalistic vocal style floating across a slow-burning R&B rhythm.

Speaking about the new single, he said, “Magic Disaster is a song about being on the edge of a relationship and wondering what it would feel like to jump. It’s about the feeling at the start of something new and wondering if you can trust your own intuition. Sometimes the line between magic and disaster can be very slim”.

“They say don’t fight it if it feels right”, he sings before the chorus’ swelling synths come in to bulk up both the song and its message with encouragement. Despite the unnerving situation at play, his voice and instrumentals help keep the anxiety under control with euphoric results.

“Magic Disaster” is a stunning release and the added anonymity of the artist adds to its appeal and wonder. Stay tuned for more music from whatshisface and listen to the song below:
