Indie Folk Artist Doo Crowder Shares His Appreciation In New Song “Fairfield Song”

Denver-based indie artist Doo Crowder (formerly from local experimental folk group pee-pee), has been making music as a solo artist for a number of years. While he recently put out an avant-garde concept album One for the losers (& the pilgrims), his latest track “Fairfield Song” takes on a new direction, filled with positivity and affection.

About the song, Crowder shares, “This song was written several years ago for a special person in Fairfield, IA named Taylor Ross who invited me to be part of a music residency there & let me live in her house for a month. It’s since evolved & taken on new meaning. When I worked at a juvenile detention center as a music therapist in 2017-18 performances with/for the residents ended with this song to remind them that just being alive is sometimes a worthy accomplishment”.

The soothing tones and gentle vocal delivery from Crowder gives the track a carefree and transformative quality, as his voice and guitar mesh into one, reminiscent of a (even more so) laidback Jack Johnson, as he opens with the line “I’d like to thank you, just for living, thank you for being alive”.
