UK Rapper CONXEPT Shares 2Pac-Inspired Track “Makaveli”
London rapper CONXEPT has been quietly grinding away at his craft, releasing a handful of tracks over the last two years or so, preparing for his chance to shine strong as one of UK’s next best rapper. His latest single and music video for “Makaveli” is an excellent step in the right direction.
Inspired by legendary rapper 2Pac, CONXEPT’s latest single exudes a familiar grace and confidence, as he raps about finding his own lane to cruise through on his newly ignited come-up. Combining elements of drill, grime, and trap, “Makaveli” has a familiar British grit, in line with Pa Salieu, but with a cool, relaxed swagger that is strictly CONXEPT.
About the track, CONXEPT shares, “Being from the UK, it’s amazing to witness how much the scene has grown since I had first started. I’m proud to say that a lot of great music is coming out of the UK however, I feel that we are guilty for playing it safe because, when one sub genre takes off, we become fixated on that one particular style and overlook everything else, missing out on a lot of good music. MAKAVELI is a statement to a generation of artists that you don’t need to fit in, it’s calm to be yourself because no one else is going to be better at being you than YOU.”
