Baby Boys Make Room For Happiness With New Single “Gone”

Minneapolis trio Baby Boys have shared the latest single and music video, heralding their upcoming debut album release on March 12th for Threesome. “Gone” showcases the free spirit of the band through the video, the lyrics, and the arrangement.

With a unique and somewhat erratic sound, and their ease of sharing vocals throughout, the track keeps you bopping along and on your toes, never quite knowing what’s next. Made up of producers and multi-instrumentalists Caleb Hinz, Jake Luppen, and Nathan Stocker, the genre-bending, mischief-pop sound that results from the partnership is a melting pot of multiple parts that works perfectly when mixed together.

“Gone” is about keeping perspective, and enjoying life while you can. Of the track’s underlying message, Hinz shares that it’s “all about not getting caught up in the game. It’s not worth it to kill yourself over winning. Ambition can get the best of us and we are no strangers to that as people.”

Backed by synths, the down to earth – literally – music video mostly features the band hanging out with farm animals in the dark. Honestly, it looks like a blast, and captures the attitude of the track perfectly. As they so aptly say,”‘Don’t let ‘em take your fun!”

How did it all come to be? Blame 2020. “If you find yourself in the middle of a raging pandemic, three days before a nail-biting election, and you haven’t left Minneapolis in 10 months, I highly recommend driving to the country with some friends to party with some goats, pigs and fuzzy cows for an evening,” says Gale of the video’s origins. ”Instant anxiety release, necessary, even if it only lasted a few hours.”

Check out “Gone” below, and see just what Baby Boys got up to on their trip to the farm. And if you’re curious about the animals themselves, farm owner Tanya Villano promises that no animals were harmed in the shooting of the video, adding that everyone was fast friends and loved the attention.
