Good Terms Meet Their Heroes On Pop-Punk Hit “Pedestal”
The members of Los Angeles four-piece Good Terms have been working behind the scenes in the music industry for a number of years, but have taken the leap into their first loves with their own music. On their latest single and title track of their new EP Pedestal, the group help modernize and to revive the emo pop-punk scene with their melodic and fiery guitar-forward rock music.
On the surface, their new music video and single appears to be a love song of sorts, before they start shredding the romance to pieces, and instead shifting the aggression to their idols and heroes as they face disappointment. The idea of “never meet your heroes” becomes the focus, as the band shares: “Pedestal” is about our frustration from being let down by our heroes and our anger toward ourselves for letting our disappointment affect us so viscerally. It’s disheartening watching those we admire create something not only bad, but untrue for all the wrong reasons“.
Fortunately, Good Terms have put out a stellar emo-punk release, making up for a number of poor releases by their predecessors (I’m looking at you A Day To Remember).
