Indie Folk Artist Canyon City Welcomes Change On “Song For Spring”
Born into a musical family from Nashville, Paul Johnson has kept the tradition alive as Canyon City. His nomadic spirit, having moved around steadily for the last decade, seeps into his indie folk sound, rounded out by the Americana roots of his upbringing. He recently shared his latest EP Circling The Sun back in October 2020, and has shared his first bit of new music of the year with “Song For Spring”.
Aptly named, the song’s lush and organic instrumentation breathes like an inhale of fresh air as his intimate guitar strumming meets in the middle with his soothing tenor voice. Fans of Gregory Alan Isakov, The Tallest Man on Earth, and Noah Gundersen will effortlessly find something to enjoy with Johnson’s music. With the intent to “keep people company”, his new single “Song For Spring” is a welcomed and cathartic release from the outside world as the sun begins to shine more and the warmer weather approaches, lead by his anthemic mantra of “Help me walk away and on change”.
