Colony House – O YA

Nashville-based act Colony House have come a long way since their heart-stealing, indie pop 2014 debut album When I Was Younger. Their latest single “O YA” is a massive jump into new territory – even considering the evolution the band has shown on their 2020 LP – as they’ve ditched the Southern rock meets indie pop influence. Channelling the likes of The Beastie Boys, Royal Blood, and Portugal. The Man, their new track is a wild ride of genres and then elevated even further with their chaotic music video.


Secondhand Sound – Dominoes

Keeping things in Nashville, newcomers Secondhand Sound have released their latest single “Dominoes”. After a series of self-released EPs, the four friends met at university, then subsequently dropped out together to pursue music full-time. Mixing the youthful, melancholic charm of The Districts with their own personalities, “Dominoes” is a must-hear from this exciting new act.

The Joy Formidable – Back To Nothing

Welsh alternative trio The Joy Formidable have announced their fifth album Into The Blue will be out August 20th. Dishing out stadium-sized riffs and their own brand of marvellous rock n’ roll, they’ve shared their latest single “Back To Nothing”.


The Lone Bellow – Dried Up River

It’s been awhile since the members of The Lone Bellow were in high school. But fortunately, they’ve made a return to the football field for the fun and joyous new music video for “Dried Up River”. Featuring a cameo from guitarist Brian Elmquist’s high school football coach, the visual for the folk rock tune is a lot of fun.


Milan André – 500 Days

Montreal-born singer-songwriter Milan André has spent most of his adult life living in different parts of Europe and Canada, taking on a nomadic lifestyle as he writes and records music. His latest single “500 Days” was written in Slovakia, and then recorded in the UK in the last year, and delicately explores the time following the dissolving of a meaningful relationship and its lingering effects through lush folk guitar strumming and fragile vocals.


Charlie Houston – 19

Indie pop singer-songwriter Charlie Houston released her debut EP I Hate Spring recently. Her latest single “19” is an exemplary cut showcasing her moody, contemporary pop style rich with her personality and matured perspective, this time with Houston opening up about an anxiety-ridden experience going to school abroad and her self-destructive tendencies.


Dizzy ft. Kevin Garrett – Sunflower, Are You There?

Indie rock act Dizzy have shared another taste of their upcoming collaborative EP Separate Places, out June 11th, this time featuring Grammy-nominated songwriter Kevin Garrett. They’ve reconstructed “Sunflower” from their 2020 album The Sun And Her Scorch for the expanded version “Sunflower, Are You There?”, adding more instrumentation and a verse from Kevin.


Nightshifts – Tunnel Vision

Toronto-based songwriter Andrew Oliver performs as Nightshifts when crafting his lo-fi indie pop tunes. His latest single “Tunnel Vision” was inspired by the likes of Tame Impala and Bon Iver, taking on the one-man band role for the dreamy single about being stuck thinking about the past and future, but never the present moment.


Great Barrier – Ephemera

New York-based artist Jackson Firlik creates music as Great Barrier, combining the tranquil, colourful qualities the of the Great Barrier Reef (we were all thinking it) with lush, ethereal indietronica detailing and pace. His new single “Ephemera”, aptly named after the quality of being enjoyed or existing in a short period of time, creates a natural and euphoric experience for its 5 minutes of listening.


Tails ft. AYA YVES – last night (eclipse)

Canadian producer Tails has teamed up with Australian vocalist AYA YVES for a stunning dance music track “last night (eclipse)”. Pulsating bass lines give the track shape and depth, as AYA’s mystical voice broods over the future house track.


Ben Phipps – On My Own

Following a difficult, life-altering couple of years that brought producer Ben Phipps to pieces, 2020 allowed the California-based Swede to use music to build himself back up in an isolated studio. “On My Own” is a piece from the completed puzzle that is his debut album Picking Up The Pieces, combining his house production background for an introspective chill-step/tropical house track.


Leonardo Das Cabrio – Vessels

 Berlin-based duo Luis Da Silva & Lenny De Luca share production roles as Leonardo Das Cabrio. Merging their styles and influences, the groove-forward nu-house track combines R&B, disco, jungle, and techno for an underground club hit.


Boys Noize ft. Jake Shears – All I Want

Electronic producer Boys Noize (Alex Ridha) has shared his trance-inspired track “All I Want”, featuring the vocals of Scissor Sisters frontman Jake Shears. The disco-infused track finds an eccentric partner with the accompanying music video that explores the dichotomy of social media and reality.


Polo & Pan – Ani Kuni

French production icons Polo & Pan have shared the animated video for their latest single “Ani Kuni”. Borrowing the sample of a Native American lullaby, the dance pop track is an energizing and colourful cut from the Parisian duo. Matching its demeanour, the visual clip was inspired by ’70s and ’80s children’s TV.


Flight Facilities ft. Channel Tres – Lights Up

Australian production duo Flight Facilities have teamed up with hip-hop artist Channel Tres for their sultry new collab “Lights Up”. The pre-drink-ready hit features Channel’s deep, groovy vocals with a crunchy bass line and glistening synth-dance energy.


Gabe Yaron – Pain

17 year old producer Gabe Yaron has made his debut with the dance-pop track “Pain”. The Los Angeles-based artist wrote the track from his bedroom following a breakup, and is an impressive and catchy first-taste from the emerging artist.


Marquee Mayfield – Disco Queen

Nashville-based self-described “clone” Marquee Mayfield has a bit of fun with the nu-disco format on his track and video “Disco Queen”. Bringing back the colourful popularity of roller skating and sequence jackets, the Chromeo-level funk tune has an irresistible energy and chromatic musicality that is as fun to listen to as the music video is fun to watch.


Alfie Templeman – Wait, I Lied

18 year old rising star Alfie Templeman put out his new EP Forever Isn’t Long Enough recently to raving reviews. His fun-loving style and electrifying energy comes across on the funk-tinged release, including his latest single “Wait, I Lied” and its spontaneous new music video. Shot in a day, the music video was unplanned and Templeman and his team just went with the flow.


Impedance – Slowdance

Hailing from Saint Petersburg, Russia is indie pop group Impedance. Inspired by the phrase “dance like no one is watching”, their new single “Slowdance” is a kitchen-party hit influenced by bands like Foster the People and Phoenix.


Kezia ft. NAYANA IZ – South!

Tanzanian artist Kezia brought along Nine8 member NAYAN IZ for the new hip-hop track “South!”. A contemporary mix of trap, hyperpop, and hip-hop, “South!” contrasts Kezia’s sultry vocals with deep, heavy production.


tony. ft. Josh Marks – GOLDEN

New York producer tony. brought along his friend and rapper Josh Marks for the new track “GOLDEN”. Part of a series of music that tony. has been accumulating as he grows his skills and following as a soundcloud artist, “GOLDEN” is one of his more upbeat and charged tracks, bringing in some slick hip-hop and R&B influences for a lo-fi cut.


Shad – Out of Touch

Toronto-based rapper Shad is still rolling out the hits. His new single “Out Of Touch” is the first taste in his new chapter, keeping with his energetic sampling and poetically-driven lyrics.


Erik Frank – Let Go Of You

22-year old R&B artist Erik Frank has shared his new single “Let Go Of You”. Fans of Masego, Miguel, and Sampha will enjoy the rounded-out sound of Frank’s catchy, hip-hop-tinged songwriting.


TCP – Strange Feel

British rapper TCP has dropped his late-night single “Strange Feel” His cadence, tone, and flow make for a compelling combination, topped off by his autobiographical lyricism that is articulate and enthralling.


Elle Baez – Come Back

After a fallout with a best friend, Brooklyn-based R&B singer-songwriter Elle Baez wrote her new song “Come Back” as a reflective and honest piece about the good times shared, and the wish to reconcile their differences. Her stunning voice makes for a compelling argument, as her rich timbre and elegant delivery take over the track instantly.


RoseeLu – Fuck With My Feelings

After dropping out of high school at 17 to pursue her dream as a pop star, Danish artist RoseeLu has dropped her latest hit, three years into her blooming career. “Fuck With My Feelings” is about her experience being head over heels for someone, regardless of the outcome. Her upbeat pop energy follows suit with a number of Scandavian artists making their mark on the pop world, including Sigrid, Dagny, and Nina Nesbitt.


Two Fang – Toughen Up

Self-described “queer goth princess, angsty alien punk, lonely night creeper”, anti-pop artist Two Fang combines the aggression of industrial with the glossy, fire-hot catchiness of hyperpop on her new single “Toughed Up”. The first of six songs on their way this year, it’s an exciting first impression of the mysterious artist.


I M U R – Sad Girls Club

For many, the lockdown of 2020 was an sudden eye-opener for many. The lack of outlets and distractions took over for I M U R frontwoman Jenny Lea, and as reality sank in, the truth came out. “Sad Girls Club” was the creativite-drought-ending catalyst for Lea, and she poured the lingering negativity into writing a hitting pop banger.


BERWYN – I’d Rather Die Than Be Deported

As one of the most exciting artists coming out of the UK, Trinidad-born, Romford-raised rapper BERWYN continues to release honesty-driven hits, stemming from personal experience. His new track “I’d Rather Die Than Be Deported” is a glance into his journey as an artist when he was feeling below ground and at one of the loneliest points in his life.


Danny Shell – Whoboy

Alternative hip-hop artist Danny Shell put out his debut album Sourgrass earlier this year, and has followed-up with his brand new track “Whoboy”. Written about the back and forth love-hate toxicity of an unhealthy relationship, the track holds a upbeat energy and catchy hook that keeps things light despite its inspiration.


Jax Anderson ft. MisterWives & Curtis Roach – Good Day

Jax Anderson, formerly known as Flint Eastwood, has re-branded back to her real name recently. “Good Day” is the latest from the Detroit-based indie artist, bringing alone indie pop act MisterWives and rapper Curtis Roach as she leans into her truer sound. The upbeat and uplifting song is a feel-good track that is brimming with confidence and positivity.


Free Throw – Down & Out

Continuing the story from the “Cloud Sick” music video, Nashville-based emo-punk act Free Throw have shared the new video for “Down & Out”, showcasing the band playing around a bonfire as friends add more and more fuel to the fire (do not try at home). Both tracks are from their upcoming album Piecing It Together, out June 25th.


Only the Strong – Picking Up The Pieces

With the Canadian pop punk scene still kicking, Calgary based trio Only the Strong are doing their part with their new single “Picking Up The Pieces”. Written about leaving a toxic friendship, the hook-filled punk track is a resilient and energizing take on doing what is best for you.


Andrew W.K. – I’m In Heaven

The party rock saviour Andrew W.K. celebrated his 42nd birthday last week, but has shown no signs of growing up just yet. His life-long mission to create party music and have a good time is still ringing true on his latest single “I’m In Heaven”, as he reaches into a more metal bag of tricks for his performance.
