Scottish Indie Artist Cyrano Shares “Tundra”, First Single From Upcoming EP
Scottish producer and multi-instrumentalist Cyrano is set to release his upcoming EP Consolations later this year, and has shared the first instalment with the lush, indietronica track “Tundra”. Co-produced alongside Foals’ Kit Monteith, “Tundra” sweeps through multiple genres, including ’90s techno and ’00s hip-hop with its dense and detailed beats.
Contrasting the song’s rich production, Cyrano allows his honey-coated vocals to float effortlessly as he dives into psyche and social anxieties – as he describes, it “music for the late night overthinkers”: “I wanted to make a track so chaotic, that could mirror the oscillating and often unpredictable feeling of social anxiety, and the journey it can take you on. Our aim was to break our beats and the norms of a song structure to keep things as irrational as life itself when these feelings arise“.
Opening with steady claps and Cyrano’s crooning voice, “Tundra” gradually builds, guiding listeners into a commanding and textured finale, shifting into the world of electronica and house with its grandiose drop.
