Montreal Multi-Instrumentalist ALIAS Shares Ghostly New Single “Kyra Collins”; Announces Debut LP Out August 13
From his newly announced debut album It’s Not Funny So Stop Smilin’, out August 13th via Simone Records, Montreal-based multi-instrumentalist ALIAS has unveiled his new rock ballad “Kyra Collins” featuring Beyries. With a soulful and psychedelic tinge, ALIAS channels the likes of The Beatles, Queen, and The Doors for a haunting performance.
Based on the character from the Sixth Sense, the new single is “about a young girl that meets a young boy every night in his room. He begins to fall in love with her, but slowly finds out that she’s a ghost”, ALIAS explains. Accompanying the psych-rock ballad, the new visual, self-produced by ALIAS himself, was shot in an ancestral home built in 1882, adding to the vintage, haunting tone of the track. At the same time, his duet with singer-songwriter Beyries provides a warm and melancholic energy that gives the song some added personality and charm.
